The Picture Taker

Capturing Louisiana’s Wild Beauty

Photography has been my passion since I was about 10 years old. My early days were filled with film rolls, experiments, and plenty of lessons learned. When digital cameras arrived, my Nikon D70 helped me capture moments I used to only dream of and I still use it today.

Growing up in the country, close to woods and water, I developed a deep love for nature: the buzz of bugs, the delicate flight of butterflies, the graceful movement of birds. This early connection became the heart of my work.

Today, I live on Black Bayou in Caddo Parish Louisiana, where I’m constantly surrounded by inspiration.

Creative Process

Through Nature’s Lens

Each image begins with quiet observation. Jerry often shoots during early mornings and golden evenings, moments when the world slows and the light dances gently across the bayou. His editing style is subtle and true to life, enhancing natural tones and contrast to reflect the scene as it was experienced.

Every photograph captures what Jerry calls “authentic moments”, real glimpses of Louisiana’s wild soul that can’t be staged or rushed.
